Hi! Peter Smith here!
Spring and summer are the best time to transform an ugly lawn into a beautiful place where your parents, kids, and you will finally find nature harmony. So, I decided to make an emerald-green lawn in… Russia.
Of course, I can’t achieve the results of traditional English lawns (seed and mow season after season, and repeat more than 200 years, ha!), but that’s a challenge, isn’t it? With professional opinion and a huge experience, my partner Doyle Mathews gave me some advice, and I’m ready for battle with weeds and terrible uneven ground of my lawn!
Intro: I have a 1-acre yard with difficult areas. Some areas have good conditions for seeding lawn grass (rich soil); others have clay soil. So I started with the last one, and you can see some results.

With helpful advice and a huge experience of Doyle Mathews, I believe that I can get greater results in 2021 🙂
I’m using a combination of these grasses:
- Red Fescue – 60%
- Kentucky Bluegrass – 30%
- Colonial Bent Grass – 10%
Now (end of March 2021), I’m waiting for warm days and when the snow cover on my yard will melt. So, subscribe on my Instagram, and you never miss updates!
